I am so happy I discovered this amazing company! As far as I know, I believe it is the only Canadian company that does pre-built platform decks. The quality is fantastic and I just loooove my new deck!I chose an 8x8 deck, so it came as two aluminium frames and 4 sets of deck boards. I did it all by myself and beside being fairly heavy (it is an aluminium frame with real cedar decking), it was really easy. My backyard has a slope and I was able to use the levelling feet to make it levelled. This is one of the best companies I have dealt with. I wanted an "L" shaped deck, and after ordering, I received a shop drawing to approve. The deck arrived as promised on 2 skids, well packed. The the instructions were clear, and I also recieved a drawing showing the layout of each part. It was a breeze to set out, but you have to take care to level the frame properly, as this is critical. The deck panels the just lay into place, and clip down as you stand on them. The deck looks fantastic. I would recommend BlokDek® to anyone, no hesitation.

​I honestly cannot say enough good things about blokDEK. Every step of the process exceeded my expectations.​The Sample Process & Ordering:Ordering samples was quick and easy. Unlike other companies that send a useless 2"x2" scrap, BlokDek sends decent-sized samples so you actually know what you’re getting. Because we had strict size limits at our campground, we ordered the exact dimensions we needed. The deck was on backorder (which wasn't an issue for me), but before it even shipped, Tannis reached out personally to confirm all of our information.​Going the Extra Mile on Shipping:The business day before delivery, I hadn't heard from the freight company. I reached out to Tannis, who was amazing—they immediately tracked down a direct phone number for me so I could confirm the delivery window.​The 2-Hour Setup (Seriously!):From the exact moment the delivery driver called to say he was 10 minutes away, to the moment I signed back into work, exactly 2 hours had passed. In that tight window, we:​Accepted the delivery (the pallet was packaged perfectly).​Unpacked everything.​Dug down the ground at one end to level it (we had to start under our camper stairs and dig down at the other end, which was opposite of the video's advice to start at the high point, but it still worked flawlessly).​Put the entire deck together and took a shower!​Quick tip: Definitely watch the instruction video beforehand and keep it handy during assembly.​The Verdict:Even our campground owner was incredibly impressed with both the quality and how quickly it all went together! The deck is super sturdy and we absolutely love it. One of my biggest worries was how it would handle the heat, as our site faces west with almost no shade. I am thrilled to report that while the deck gets warm, it never gets hot enough to burn the bottoms of your feet.​If you are on the fence about ordering a BlokDek, just do it. I bought my deck to place alongside my camper at my permanent site. Tannis and Craig provided outstanding customer service by answering all of my questions and helped coordinate the shipping and delivery of my deck to the campground. The deck was very easy to assemble. The frames are high quality anodized aluminum and the decking snaps onto the frames. Simply walking on the decking will attach it to the frames. Once everything was opened and unpacked, the time to assemble the deck was less than an hour.

Great deck for a travel trailer at a camp site. It was easy to put together, but you'll likely need some "footing". We used basic 4x8 pavers as the "foundation" for the feet. This resulted in a very solid feeling platform, and held up well over the winter freeze without any shifting or settling. Leveling the area to the height range of the "feet" was the biggest part of the job.

With a recent pool remodel, we were looking to redo our landscape. The goals: remove grass, save water, and have space that was dog "mess"-free with our 3 dogs. When I first learned about blokDek I thought it was an interesting idea, so I thought about it, mostly because I had gone through surgery for spinal stenosis 4 months before, and this system looked easier to assemble than building a traditional deck, which I had done many times before as I am 76 years old and built my own house when I was 27 years old. I purchased a 6'x8' deck to create a grilling are next to our full patio. The patio was delivered about 10 days after purchasequicker than expected, since it was shipped from Canada to the US.It came on a good sized pallet with zero issues creating during package and delivery.The construction was rock solid and the materials seem really high quality. I had a slightly more complicated install since I had to dig out and level an area. Once that was done, putting the deck together and installing it was a breeze. Assembly was slightly different than the video, but it was really easy to figure out how to bolt the two sections together.I have zero regrets with my purchase. What are the benefits of using Aluminum Deck Framing over other materials?

Unlike wood, it won’t warp, twist, rot, crack, or absorb moisture over time, so your deck stays flat and stable for years. Aluminum is also fire-resistant, insect-proof, mold-resistant, and highly corrosion-resistant, making it ideal even near saltwater environments.

How does the price of a blokDEK® compare to hiring a contractor to build a traditional deck?

At blokDEK®, we provide a quality DIY decking system that is competitive or cheaper than hiring a deck builder to build you a traditional deck made of wood or composite. We regularly receive feedback that our system was cheaper than hiring a contractor to do the work (and a lot faster, too!).

Do I need to dig holes for footings? Does the deck require piers or piling?

No. blokDEK® is a freestanding deck and does not require any deck foundation preparation like screw piles or concrete piers. There is no digging or mixing concrete required for our products. If you wish to install your blokDEK® deck permanently, you can easily fasten the bloks to concrete piles, screw piles, and/or structural beams. Please contact us, and we will try to provide additional information as needed.

Can I really do this myself?

Yes! We have many customers who are amazed at how easy the blokDEK® installation process is. You do not need to have any experience with building or fabrication.
